October 2017

Well September came and left and we are now in the month of October.   It will be rifle hunting season before we know it.  Getting out into the hills is one activity that I always look forward to performing.  I enjoy the fresh air and smell of pine, and I also appreciate the fact that I may see something that is brand new to me.  Hiking in the hills connects me with my surroundings and it rejuvenates my outlook on life.

What is it about activities that we enjoy and why do they have such a profound effect on our senses?  I see this concept holding true for all ages, and as the school year passes, we need to take this idea into consideration for our own students.  As the year moves on students can become less motivated to complete school work as there are many distractions and activities that can take them away from achieving their best.  I suggest encouraging them to take some time to perform undertakings that they enjoy.  Take the time to get outside and hold a backyard football game or go for a bike ride.  It doesn’t matter what it is as long as you are enjoying yourself and your kids and they are having fun.

Let them step away from reality a bit and it will benefit everyone in the long run.  However, please continue to be on top of school work and make it a priority to complete it correctly.  Thank you for letting us experience your students.  They bring a smile to my face on a daily basis.
