November 2017

Well it has been a fast and furious first quarter here at Whitehall Elementary.  We are finally coming down from the sugar highs of Halloween and are back to business in our elementary.  Thank you to all of the parents and guardians, friends and family that made Halloween a special event for our kids.  I truly appreciate your excitement as well as all of the students.  I hope all of you had a blast seeing our ghosts, goblins and ghouls.

This Friday, the 10th we celebrate our Veterans.  It is always humbling to attend the program and remember the sacrifices that have been made for our great nation.  As the late Chris LeDoux sang: “Freedom ain’t free, and glory ain’t cheap.”  I appreciate all of you who have served our country and this one day is not enough recognition for the time you have spent protecting our liberties.  I challenge everyone to appreciate our Veterans all year long.  Make every effort you can to “Thank a Vet.”

As Thanksgiving comes towards the end of this month, we all have much to be thankful for.  I appreciate this town and people that create it.  I was just reminded of this again while clearing the football field for our playoff game last Saturday against Shelby.  It was heartwarming the way everyone came together to help remove snow and prepare the field for the kids.  That is what makes our little town special.
