March 2018

I’ve heard that March is the muddy month, although with the temperatures as of late I have decided to disregard that statement for the time being. I will probably regret saying this at the end of the month when the snow begins to melt, because our snow pack levels are above average.  It is also a busy month in the school realm.

Students are gearing up to take our final rounds of MAP tests.  These will be held on the week of the 19th-23rd.  The 23rd will mark the end of the 3rd quarter of school as well.  This will bring us to quarter four and 45 days of school remaining at that time.  It seems like I just wrote this article for August, yet here we are anyway.  That will be toward the end of the month.

In the beginning of March, we have parent teacher conferences on the 5th and 7th from 3:30-6:30. On the 8th Nate Leazer is coming into the school presenting to the K-5 on off road safety.  It will be good for the students to learn the content included in his presentation.  Our 3-5 is attending the Butte Symphony with Mrs. Heilig and their classes on the morning of the 9th.  This is always a good trip and a fun experience for the students.  It is neat that they get to listen to a live orchestra as well.  It is different when it is presented in person rather than media.

Spring break will begin on March 29th at 1:00 pm which will be the second 1:00 release of the month.  Kindergarten Roundup will be on April 6th this year right after the break.  Call Cindy and arrange a time for your child to get assessed.  Easter this year lands on April Fool’s Day.  I have been reminded time and time again by my sons.  I am gearing up for some Easter tricks!

Have a great month!!

Mr. McLean
